I also heard that in the US it was during the daytime so not much to see, we were lucky in Dubai to see it after sunset.

The blood moon was visible from about 5-6AM in CA, so it was still dark. It was really cool looking, as was the lunar eclipse prior. If I hadn't been so groggy, I would've gotten my tripod and camera out. Whoops. Got a decent shot of the full moon tonight though...
