This was taken in Clearwater, FL. A few of us took a roadtrip to the coast to take photographs there.
It was cold (for me, island boy) and windy. The beach was fairly empty except for a couple people walking dogs.
I don't normally do HDR, they aren't really my thing, but somebody here might enjoy them.

The water like this seems cold as steel but the sunset is always so welcoming.

Yes HDR are tricky to make realistic.
I am not a huge fan either but I do like an understated well done one. Such as this, top shooting
