In the mountains of southwest Montana...
Just a few pictures of the views right off the road going up the canyon where I just found a new place to camp. Great views, steep canyon walls, and thick forests with a rather large creek running through.
As for my campsite, I found a nice little opening well off the main forest road, right by the creek with plenty of shade, so pretty stoked about such an ideal spot, in the middle of dense fir forest with a few scattered pines around as well.
The fire ring is especially cool, made with massive rocks and and a really big wind-guard, not quite like anything I’ve seen before...
The creek is on the large side, still flowing fast for this time of year, with a little waterfall nearby even, and the really dense forest as a backdrop.
Typical Montana scenery. Below is Dakota on a hillside on a short hike above our last campsite shortly before moving, a little different terrain but not far away at all.
Whoa!! I wanna go camping there too!
Looks like someone put some serious effort forward building that hearth! Great pictures.
