When the 'daughter' had enough, mama cat went to finish off the remainder, that's when the tom came over to check out what's cookin'...
He goes for it...
Eventually, the adult cat will bring living prey, either a bird or mouse or lizard or whatever, to teach them how to kill for themselves.

We like our cats semi independent, averse to living indoors.
They help keep the vermin population under control as well as relieving us the burden of worry about feeding them.
