Incredible photography of deserts that look like dreams

in #photography6 years ago

When we think of deserts we imagine inhospitable landscapes with rather extreme climates, and although there is much truth in this, the richness of its flora and fauna is immense. The beauty of these places will surprise us through the lens of Luca Tombolini .

This photographer explains that he likes to explore the vast expanses of deserts and capture their capricious forms. Tombolini knows that making shots in the climatic conditions of the deserts is a challenge because he must be well prepared for emergencies that may arise, especially because he has to get away from the villages for it. Otherwise, says Tombolini, " you're simply not in a position to photograph because you're probably thinking about how to save yourself "

Tombolini's next collection is made up of different photographs -particularly in the Western Sahara in Morocco and in the Dunes of Gran Canaria, in Spain- all with clean, symmetrical, almost surrealistic compositions in pastel tones.

His photographs are presented in large format and it is true that they are captivating. Sometimes they look almost like illustrations because of their colors and contrasts and other times they look like landscapes that only exist in the imagination . Tombolini has explained that when he goes into the deserts to explore he always does it with the help of his GPS because the landscapes change on the same day and it would be impossible to locate when the whole environment is in constant movement, thus giving greater value to his shots. The dunes and mountains that I photograph are almost like ephemeral natural sculptures.

More impermanent look these landscapes if we think about the impact of climate change that affects the planet Earth. Tombolini says that "climate change is the result of this new relationship we established with nature.
