Timphan cake is a type of traditional cake from Aceh made from a mixture of rice flour, grated coconut and coconut milk. This cake is usually wrapped in banana leaves before steaming to give it a distinctive aroma. Usually timphan cake is served as a snack or dessert for hive friends.
Timphan cakes are also made for weddings and are served to guests. Serving timphan makes the guests noble in the eyes of all hive friends.
