THE LOFOTEN ISLANDS OFFER FANTASTIC NATURAL EXPERIENCES!

It looks like an advertising slogan but it's so true ...
Hello everyone,

I was so hungry for open spaces this week that I started digging through my hard drives. I would have preferred to take a plane ticket, but hey ... it did me good for less;) We went twice to the Lofoten Islands. A first trip to Lofoten in March 2015. There was still some snow on the peaks. Then a second time early February 2016 because we wanted more snow. So we pushed to the Vesteralen Islands a little further north. The snow covered all the nature, the landscapes were superb! While the unusual silence gave us the impression of moving in cotton.

Each time, Christine and I were amazed by the beauty of the crystalline fjords, especially the village of Hamnoy with its Falun Red Rorbus. In Swedish Falu rödfärg, is a painting whose pigment is made from the slag of the copper mine of Falun. It is widely used in Sweden where traditional wooden houses are very often painted in this color. Its use has spread in other Scandinavian countries, in Norway, Finland and also in North America where many barns are painted with.

I thought I had said everything and showed everything on the Lofoten Islands ... eh bé no So, I worked on new images, then I searched the archives and I even found a video that tears, realized in time -laps and 4K on Norway. Finally I finish this post with a personal thought on mass tourism ... Ready for the change of scenery?

Today, the rorbus have been redone and are the joy of tourists;)
It is still necessary to break the pig because the location of these rorbus on the Lofoten Islands represents a substantial budget. It takes an average of € 1,200 for 7 nights ... But it's the best way to get in the Norwegian atmosphere in a cozy setting in the middle of an exceptional nature! In fact, all Scandinavian countries ask for a large budget, I think I can safely say that everything is more expensive than in France. Whether food, accommodation, gas, flights etc ...

He can sometimes do a dog's time!
What a contrast between the first image of this article, (probably one of my best pictures of Hamnoy) and this one. The same village a few hours apart ... In fact, I love this capricious weather but ideal for landscape photography;) The whole being to be well dressed and always be ready for the worst! Take a few clothes that you can stack. Thus, you can add or remove layers depending on the temperature. In addition, consider bringing at least one warm sweater, waterproof clothing, and comfortable walking shoes / boots. Tips for all seasons ... Leave the flip flops at home;))

Bad weather, wind, snow but also beautiful sunsets as in this article: Sunsets at Lofoten.

After the snow comes the good weather ...

The archipelago of Lofoten Islands is famous for trekking!
If you are looking for unforgettable outdoor experiences, you will certainly not be disappointed. The diversified relief of the region, allows you to make unforgettable hikes. We had nice walks with Christine during our travels. In reality here it is really sport! You will find hikes on the treckmag site. The 10 most beautiful routes of Lofoten.

5'33 of visual happiness ... Full screen advised;)

In Norway, pilots of drones and other remote-controlled flying machines must generally respect a safety distance of 150 meters between the drone and any person, vehicle or building unrelated to their activity. Flights must also occur during the day and within 120 meters of the ground or surface of the water. Keep a minimum distance of 5 kilometers from airports, unless you have explicit permission to approach it more closely. The machine must always remain in the pilot's field of vision, whose behavior must not be affected by the consumption of alcohol ... even if it warms up;)

END OF THE WALK ON THE LOFOTEN ISLANDS

It made me feel good to go back into those atmospheres a little cool but so toning;) I think we will return to Norway, it's too good. I would also like to one day approach the North Pole with a jump to Svalbard ... Projects, it takes;)

PERSONAL THOUGHTS ...

What is certain is that being able to leave off-season allows you to enjoy good moments of solitude on places usually crowded with tourists. These moments will become more and more rare! I had already had the opportunity to talk about it in an old article and I had.

PERSONAL THOUGHTS ...
What is certain is that being able to leave off-season allows you to enjoy good moments of solitude on places usually crowded with tourists. These moments will become more and more rare! I had already had the opportunity to talk about it in an old article and I qualified these moments of luxury. It is confirmed from year to year. Some cities like Barcelona have reached a saturation point that the city is struggling to manage. Other cities or countries will be affected in the near future. I am thinking in particular of Iceland, which has released with Norway a sort of tourist charter ... on which I have committed myself.

To support this, I just came across this article: Amsterdam draws an arsenal against mass tourism - The number of visitors could reach 30 million people in 2025, against 18 million today. The municipality will greatly complicate the life of the tourist in the Dutch capital ... read on LesEchos.fr

The 10 sites threatened by mass tourism:
The steady growth in the number of tourists around the world raises the problem of overcrowding in some places. The resulting consequences are numerous: degradation of the natural and cultural environments, social problems, decrease in the quality of the tourist offer, etc ...

More and more of us are traveling and that is of course a very good thing. But we will probably be compelled in the near future to reconsider how we visit the planet. The spaces of true freedom will melt ... like snow in the sun. If you have an opinion on the question, please leave a comment below. Ah !!! A new recipe is available on Christine's blog: Le temps des cerises.
