The Miscellanies around the 4 Heaven Kings Gate of Whaeom-sa Temple

in #photography6 years ago

The reason why they changed the order of the gates was uncertain, but in my guess there must be clear purpose in changing ordinary arrangement. Usually we change the order to emphasis something in verse. World is the text, so we need to interpret unusual situation and phenomenon to understand world.

After looking back from Geumgang-mun gate, I moved forward to the 4 Heaven Kings Gate.

In this case of changing order of the gates in Whaeom-sa temple, I thought it must be stress the later that the former. The later was 4 heaven Kings gate. So, I looked 4 Heaven Kings gate more deliberately. Whole building seemed to be constructed in late Choson dynasty due to the corner stones and the pillars.

The statue of Kings were so vivid and well made. It looked like alive.

The simple side view was so impressive with red color. There were some stone monument near the gate. That was be the memory of the great monk who contributed to this temple. I could not read small ones. The letters were too much erased to read.

There were benches near the gate, a women sat there and was looking far away with cup of coffee.

After passing through the gates, I saw the auditorium in this temple on the hill.

@slowwalker, Whaeom-sa Temple is pretty amazing creativity of Choson dynasty. Every features of temple amazing. Every temples of Korea I looked more gates for entrance in to temple. Nice scenery showing to Geumgang-mun gate. 4 heaven Kings gates so traditional looks indeed. Yep statues of Kings looks like live. They seemed severe and mean like protect Buddhism. Nice monument there with nice maroon coloring. Seemed tremendous background everywhere. Thanks for well explained and perfect clicks.

Cool temple

So beautiful in Korea, perfect for starting a trip

Amazing photos. Each photo can be considered a masterpiece. I especially liked the photo of the gods and the building of the temple from the side.

Восхитительные фото. Каждое фото может считаться шедевром. Особенно понравилось фото богов и здание храма с боку.

All the temples are build up on stones and solid wood, I can imagine how the architects, may be that time they have been called differently thought about their construction and may be thought and hoped that their "babies" will see many future generations. it is amazing the statue of Kings, how the postures were made so that they have an expressions like they just were put in this position and froze because you are looking at them and will move further once you turned with your back. That was my thoughts when I was visiting such places as a child. Lovely flower bouquets ont eh steps and beautiful trees, love them.

Made me wish to go there! Thank you!
