70-80% of an iceberg is under the water, which is something when you look at the size of this piece of ice. It does make for a great location to forage for food when you are a hungry humpback whale. The constant behaviour of humpback whales foraging for food near, around and under large pieces of ice always means for a good starting point in search of these whales. This makes my life a tad easier to find, identify and interact with the animals, ensuring that the guests I have on board my zodiac get the experience of a lifetime.
I would be lying if it also didn't mean that it gives me a great opportunity to attempt to capture such moments. This was one photo that I completely forgot that I had until I scrolled through them yesterday.

That would have been just incredible to see. And a feeding whale to top it off. Is that a humpback?
It is an experience I thoroughly get to have continuously due to my work life. It is indeed a humpback whale... from memory we were zodiac cruising at Wilhelmina bay
Amazing! Sounds like some extraordinary work.
In Antarctica, I've seen whales for the first time and I fall in love in whales, especially this friendly Humpbacks.
Nice shot:)
