I appreciate his contests because I enjoy writing haiku. These @vdux contests give me a grand excuse.

Your haiku is wonderful, but is almost upstaged by the rest of your page. This is like the entrance to a personal universe of creativity.
I do take issue with T.S. Eliot. I've been on this earth for many, many years and hope never to discover how far I can go. For me, the joy is in the mystery, and the striving.
I'll be back to look at your library, and to enjoy the images of Reimund Bertrams.
That haiku led me to treasure :)

While I agree with that sentiment, I'm not sure you've apprehended Eliot? Though I must confess I haven't sought out the context of his statement, I take his meaning as iterative... i.e., a tad further with each attempt. I consider the universe such a vast and wonderful place that I expect, by the kindness of Jesus/God, to be exploring it for-EV-er and still having wonderful new strivings and mysteries available to me with each new day. ;)
I am so glad that you've noticed my Library... I apologize that it is considerably out of date. I must put in some more work on it soon. Nevertheless, I hope you'll find some authentic treasures there that will tickle your fancy.

Thanks for that reply. I discovered you through @vdux haiku contest. And perhaps I was being a bit deliberately contrary by reading the Eliot quote as I did. It's just that, I don't want to discover how far I can go. I want to keep going, striving, learning, becoming more aware--which, given my age, would surprise a lot of people.
In your blog I see the joy of creating. And the pleasure of sharing.
I just read, Internal Bleeding. A gem. Your library is sure to hold more.
My daughter keeps calling me as I try to write this...the comment is becoming a little disjointed. (She wants to use my credit card miles for an airplane ticket---hanging up, calling back, getting passwords). Anyway, so glad I did find you on Steemit. So much rich material here. The one thing I miss is a place for history. There are creative writing, gaming and science niches, but no history niche. I'd love to see that grow.

I'm in tune with you there... I love learning, adding to my skill sets, and making things. Without knowing your age, I can't comment on it; but I'm 68 going on 25 these days... ;)
I always hated history in school... probably due to teachers who had no clue about how to present it. I've become more interested, but I find myself more interested in the future.

However, unless they were college courses, I don't think it would have happened. I was 15 when I started college, and though you have a few years on me, I don't think our age difference is great enough that you could have been one of my high school teachers! ;)
Who could not love a Haiku that speaks of adventure and far-away places? Big love on this one. As an aside, the photo is stunning and absolutely expresses these sentiments.
