THE BLOCKCHAIN (An Original Poem)

in #poetry3 years ago (edited)

The fear is gone,
we are no longer drawn,
into the yawn of
the alarm clock dawn.

The slender thread
of humanity is frayed,
we wring our gnarled hands,
suffer, weep, then pray.

Teary eyes are useless
when the mind can't see,
let your heart take you deeper
into this soliloquy.

Operating on the edge,
this idea has the power,
to free us from our bonds
and now is the hour.

Decentralized, dissolving power
from the harbingers of misery,
making words at last ring true...
‘My country ‘tis of thee’.

Our future is so fragile,
our reality — greed and pain,
it’s time for this binary savior,
unleash the blockchain.

Poetry should move us, it should change us, it should glitch our brains, shift our moods to another frequency. Poetry should evoke feelings of melancholy, whimsy, it should remind us what it feels like to be in love, or cause us to think about something in a completely different way. I view poetry, and all art really, as a temporary and fragile bridge between our world and a more pure and refined one. This is a world we could bring into creation if enough of us believed in it. This book is ephemera, destined to end up forgotten, lingering on some dusty shelf or tucked away in a dark attic. Yet the words, they will live on in memory. I hope these words become a part of you, bubble up into your memory when you least expect them to and make you feel a little more alive.

Most of us have experienced a moment of perfect peace at least once in our lives. In these moments we lose ourselves and feel connected to everything. I call these mindful moments. Words can’t describe how complete they make us feel.

These moments are usually fragile, evaporating in seconds. What if there was a way to train your mind to experience more of them? It’s deceptively easy and requires nothing more than a subtle shift in mindset. My new book, Mindful Moments, will teach you to be much more content despite the chaos and imperfect circumstances continuing to unfold around you. I love your message that flowing so beautifully and easily with your words. Poetry does indeed come from the heart as you so artfully said:
Teary eyes are useless
when the mind can't see,
let your heart take you deeper
into this soliloquy.

Thanks Angie! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Hello dear friend @ericvancewalton good afternoon
I admire your poems, I love what you say here.
Decentralized, dissolving power
from the harbingers of misery,
making words at last ring true ...
‘My country‘ tis of thee ’.
You are great writing, I appreciate you sharing this poetry with us.
I wish you a beautiful afternoon

Much appreciated @jlufer! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I hope you're having a good week.

I can relate as I talk to myself when I am reasoning something out. I am sure my kids have picked out a facility for me already.

The words have a cadence that is honored by the GIF.

Taking it home with me.

I hope it's a nice facility! Lol. Is the GIF moving when you view it? Ever since the last hardfork none of the GIFs are animated on Hive for me.

It is animated when it first appears. (Yesterday, it did it the whole time) Now it stops, but, it was moving in the beginning.

Not that that was any help!

It's so strange how glitchy the GIFs are after that last hardfork. They work on other Hive-based platforms like PeakD and Ecency.

I was on Peakd! That's probably why it worked! Now I am on my phone which has Hive and it's not moving. Go figure.

Operating on the edge,
this idea has the power,
to free us from our bonds
and now is the hour.

This is my best part and to see that today El Salvador has implemented the use of cryptosystem is just so beautiful.

El Salvador was one of one of my motivations for posting this! Glad you enjoyed it.

interesting poetry friend, thanks for sharing

Thanks for reading!

Blockchain could be a savior, sensible...

I think it already is a savior for many people, a Plan B for a system that is stacked against them.

Wow!👏👏👏

First the poetry, ephemera, and then, mindful thoughts.

You know, poetry, is written from a place of emotions (at least when I do write mine) and there's always a line for every moment. The words lives on, literally, last for ages but still fresh like a newborn.

You are gifted with words🙌

I should look forward to reading any of the books. Great job you've done.

It's time for the binary saviour, unleash the blockchain

This phrase just got me a little excited.

I just love the dynamics of your words.
