embrace the void
of the blank page,
catalogue all of your
watchful fallacies.
Freeze each of your
anxieties on paper
and all the other things
that sculpted you
into who it is
you really are.
boxing shadow puppets,
seeking wounds to revisit
platitudes with attitude,
shame and blame,
a growing chorus
of insidiousness,
just hear that choir sing
and the peculiar
hurts that bring
such a chronicle of
clear consequence.
a blueprint of
every one
of your pieces
and how
incomprehensibly
they all fit together,
you hope in time
the scribbles will help
you see through
the bullshit
that resides
in your blessed
blind spots.
of the lucky ones,
one fateful day,
the ink on these pages
will be the roadmap
that allows you
to stop being your
own worst enemy,
to step aside
and to finally,
yes finally,
get the hell
out of your
own way.
Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Poetry should move us, it should change us, it should glitch our brains, shift our moods to another frequency. Poetry should evoke feelings of melancholy, whimsy, it should remind us what it feels like to be in love, or cause us to think about something in a completely different way. I view poetry, and all art really, as a temporary and fragile bridge between our world and a more pure and refined one. This is a world we could bring into creation if enough of us believed in it. This book is ephemera, destined to end up forgotten, lingering on some dusty shelf or tucked away in a dark attic. Yet the words, they will live on in memory. I hope these words become a part of you, bubble up into your memory when you least expect them to and make you feel a little more alive.

Most of us have experienced a moment of perfect peace at least once in our lives. In these moments we lose ourselves and feel connected to everything. I call these mindful moments. Words can’t describe how complete they make us feel.
These moments are usually fragile, evaporating in seconds. What if there was a way to train your mind to experience more of them? It’s deceptively easy and requires nothing more than a subtle shift in mindset. My new book, Mindful Moments, will teach you to be much more content despite the chaos and imperfect circumstances continuing to unfold around you. Upgrade your life experience today for only $15.99 on Amazon.com.
Let’s Keep In Touch

Hi Eric, I like your poetry. Moreover, the style of language looks very firm and clear. Actually, I'm a little difficult to understand the deepest meaning of this poem. Because I can't speak English very well. I used an English translator to translate it,but I really admire you as a writer who is very productive. Wish you more success in the future. Have a nice day, Eric.
Thank you, Eliana! I hope you've enjoyed your weekend!
I wish we could freeze our anxieties and all the other things that cause drawbacks in our life.
I love your work :)
Getting the hell out of my own way is a process sometimes. There have been points where my work has indeed provided the roadmap, and I've felt free from all the constraints I put on myself. Yet somehow I tend to find myself in a place where I'm doing it again, creating imaginary boundaries. Not that boundaries can't be a good thing, but when it limits creativity it definitely is not.
Thank you, my friend. I experience the very same thing. Fear, worry, and doubt have a way of creeping in, especially just before we are about to make huge breakthroughs. It's funny how all of that negativity just vaporizes once we push through it.
Probably this is much deeper than many of us would think. Many people suffer from depression or from other things, and they often do self harm. Some of them even do suicide. Or at least they think about it, and/or plan it. Most of these people need serious and professional help. When I was a child, once I was diagnosed with dysthymia, which is a chronic form of depression, so I know this side from personal experience.
I've experienced depression too in my life. It is very serious and real and should be treated. This piece was about how effective journaling can be to help us heal.
Very nice. I feel like I should say more given the fact that I just wrote two fairly long posts about making good comments, but I think your poem really speaks for itself. I just wanted you to know I appreciate it.
Thank you, brother. You always write such thoughtful comments. I should focus more on that instead of just posting all the time. I'm glad you enjoyed this!
I think for me it is just a habit now. For new users it can be game changing. For those who are more established and have some regular votes, it isn't as necessary, but can still lead to some great interactions.
I totally agree. It can lead to interactions and even great friendships. We have people all over the world we visit now, that is my favorite part of all this.
We have a saying “Paper will endure everything”. And indeed it is. Thanks for the interesting poem.
Thanks for taking the time to read it!
Wow this really lovely and nice, I love every part them
Really like your poetry and also agree with your words that Most of us have experienced a moment of perfect peace at least once in our lives. In these moments we lose ourselves and feel connected to everything. I call these mindful moments. Words can’t describe how complete they make us feel. They are that moments which let us feel happy in our whole life whenever we throw back them.
Reblog your poem
I am interested in reading words like that, actually I also like to see beautiful poems that always make us entertained. sometimes I like to write poetry in my own language, but I'm still in the learning stage to be able to compose little by little.thanks for sharing. May father's day always be happy.
