The Winds of Mars

in #poetry5 years ago

dust storms of Mars.jpg

Ice will glaze the trees
Until the world sleeps
Beneath a silvery filigree
Of silence;

Not so on Mars…

There, the breezes blow
Over sand, not snow,
And the distant hills
Stand silent.

What does it mean?

For millenia
The winds and sands
Have sifted
The Martian desert,

And no one heard
And no one cared—
It didn’t matter.

So, too, this poem
Millenia hence
Will not be read
Will not be heard,

And like the Martian wind
I whisper
In the silence;

And no one hears
And no one cares…
It doesn’t matter.

But I've been here
To write these words—
And don't care
What happens after.

thank you for your encouragement, @ehisoria

teeter, teeter, tumble
is what the signals have us know

so for not all of us to stumble

we have to know which way to go
and our furrows thus to plow

so when in this world we reappear
our happiness can grow

thank you...I think :)

You inspired it ok! - just maybe the passionate butterfly wing like stroke of your pen may multiply by inspiration into the distant future in to something making your doings of today quite worth their while!
