Life is quite
the slippery foe,
hard to grasp
and quick to go...
Initially meant to use this in a longer poem, but the message is quite strong in these 4 lines, no need to dillute it by building more lines around it. Basically "memento mori" with a twist - life might be real hard to understand and work with but always remember that it's not eternal..
I actually enjoyed this so much. Sometimes, less is more, and this is definitely one of those cases.
In fact, I have chosen this to be one of my favourites and featured it in the first-ever "The Best Poems of the Week" - exclusive for the poems tagged with #poetsunited.
