Tunnel Vision

Your opinions are absolute and all your thoughts are wise,

Who can argue, when you’re backed by confidence and pride?

Your words are facts and every other view lacks truth,

What do they know anyway, lowly cretins with mundane minds?

From your summit of knowledge,

You look down on all of us, calling our humble learning garbage.

Where patience taught us to listen, eloquence pushed you to speak.

As you laugh at our simple words, the wisdom in them fails to hit its mark.

This armor of foolishness you wear, no arrow of truth can pierce.

Where an open mind would have opened your eyes,

To the beauty of night stars,

You chose blindfolds of ill-advised opinions and misguided counsel.

You could’ve been the Solomon of our time,

Now your wisdom is a farce, foolery in disguise.

Your intellect is a mirage, a travesty to sound minds.

Even now, as we mourn your loss while you spew well molded filth,

You fail to see how adrift your soul’s ship is.

How can you anyway, when the island of your putrid thoughts is always in sight?

We’ll pass your story down to our descendants,

A fitting warning of how the deft of mind,

Should not succumb to the seductions of pride.

It’s a shame really,

When you could’ve experienced all these other beautiful minds,

Your tunnel vision made you blind.
