lately i've been feeling out of touch
this modern world is just way too much
we do what we don't want to
we don't do what we ought to
convincing ourselves that we are happy

the modern man lives inside of his phone
he dreads the thought of being all alone
imagine if the grid went
he says he doesn't depend
but we all know he lies just like you

i find it hard to stay away myself
i do my best to take care of my health
but i've also been made to
think it's okay to hate you

see people see me as an unkind soul
and i've been okay with playing that role
by seeking validation
rejecting information
but it's never too late to come home
