SAD POEM #1

in #poetry6 years ago

Tears were few that day
so help came from the skies,
Some sang and walked,
some stared and cried,
We had no fore knowledge of your visit,
So we danced away the nights,
the sweat from our bodies forming a pathway to our door.

We'd come back a bit if we could,
Plead that Big Ben change his mind,
We'd clean our hearts and shave our minds,
We would ask that you let us be ready,
and leave a light on the day you decide to come.

But all that's in the past now,
You came and you took, we did not expect
Our days and plans, we now regret
We shy away from our nights each time,
The hand of darkness clinging to us with each rhyme.

We've resigned ourselves to the truth,
We believe in the lies we tell ourselves,
Your eyes are closed forever and our hearts are melted together,
I would die each day if I were to rant like this,
Take my life 'oh pen' my life is but a waste.

This poem talks to me about loss and grieving. What does it say to you??
