Returning the Key

Inside four walls
My bed used to be, there
And there, and there, over in the corner, across the TV
Apparently these random haggard years
Were used as placeholders
While I was busy practicing, rearranging matches
Moving blocks from one end of the spectrum
To the other, a different one, a variant of none
Just like an old runny game of Russian bloc
Tetris
Hit and miss, hit and run
Anybody heard of the god damn starting gun?
Five years or doubly so
Fifteen thousand geese laying their eggs
On someone else's astro turf
My pockets are empty and so is yet, my soul
Sacrifice for the glory of one which oddly
Not surprisingly is still yet to come
Memories, reflections
Hatchlings, chicks, saudade, cleft installment plan
No one told you when to run!
Access granted, access returned, privilege won
Privilege lost
All that remains, a rift, a tuft of grey hair nestling
On a scratched railing, blowing in the winter wind

Ride the rift, jump the clift, catch a drift @zenmotherfucker
