The Secret, Sinister, International Dumbing-Down Plot has Achieved Ultimate Success

in #politics8 years ago

The recent election of Donald Trump to the Presidency of the United State of America is the ultimate success for the Secret, Sinister International Plot to dumb-down the masses of civilized society.

This plot which began many years ago has achieved a major milestone by convincing 47.5% of the American electorate to elect a man of dubious character, dubious intellect, dubious temperament, and dubious business success.to the “leader” of the Free World.

By mastering the fatal flaw of a dumb downed, sound bite oriented society, he was able to present himself to 47.5 percent of the U.S. electorate as a level-headed change-agent of sterling character, a super successful, smart businessman capable of running a complex entity such as the U.S. government. By the way, one cannot manage the country as business, because it is not a business. It is a collection of thousands of interactive businesses, serving millions of foreign and domestic customers in a highly fragmented, uncertain, almost chaotic environment. Thinking of the country as a business is thinking much too small.

The theory of dumbing down was in full play during the election process, as no amount of fully displayed bigotry, bullying, outright lying, cheating, disrespect for women and minorities could counter the single, powerful sound bite – “Make America great again.”
That sound bite and others collected dutifully, frequently, and enthusiastically reported by a media that thrives on sound bites, tended to drown out reason in the minds of the great unwashed.

Each exposition of the truth was pushed aside in some unthinking way (the evidence of dumbing down) by 47.5 % of American voters. Of course we still have to demolish the outdated electoral college which produced the bizarre result of electing Trump even though 47.7 % of the American people voted for Ms. Clinton.

So, there you have it, the perfect plot for undermining the decency and the integrity of the highest office in the nation, to glorify and paint a pretty face on a narcissistic, con man and placing his finger on the atomic trigger. All because of a series of blatant, well publicized, cleverly constructed sound bites. Hopefully, eventually, even a dumb downed America will regain its senses, and realize that it cannot live on sound bites alone. Somewhere, there must be some level of substance. The lesson will be painfully recognized when Mr. Trump and the Republican party marches our sons and grandsons off to a war perpetrated to boost the economy and create new riches for their already rich friends and defense industry stockholders.

By the way, our educational system is complicit in this dumbing-down plot. It has abdicated its responsibility by failing to emphasize and inculcate the importance of critical thinking in educating the masses.

if you can see the leader, he's not the leader.

While I agree education and critical thinking is a major issue here, I think the problem is deeper. Trump could not have won with only the"dumbed down masses". The differences of opinion and values are so extreme, that it seems like the other side would have to be ignorant. However, I belive both sides have the same sentiment.

I happen to belive Trump duped the electorate and is dangerous. However, I know his supporters feel basically the same way about Clinton. This is the impass, we have to find a way to move forward together or we'll all be dragged backwards.
