Democrats tent is getting too crowded. Black protesters shout down the "white lady" at a Democratic convention

in #politics7 years ago

Rep. Stacey Evans is a white candidate in the Democratic Gubernatorial race for Georgia.

Ms. Evans was shouted down and harassed by a primarily black audience in an Atlanta event at the Hyatt Regency on August 12.  The audience was in favor of her opponent, Ms. Abrams, who is black. The audience tag line for the shout down was "Trust Black Women". Sounds racist maybe? Maybe you're not sure if that is racist?

It is easy to check for racism. Completely flip the scenario and see what conclusion you get to.

Imagine that a primarily white audience, in favor of the white candidate, shouts down and refuse to let the competitor speak.  The competitor is black, and the shout down is the tag line "Trust White Women". Can you imagine how MSM heads would explode if that reverse scenario happened. So this situation in Atlanta over the week-end can be easily confirmed as racism by simply imagining the reverse scenario.

The chickens are coming home to roost for the Democrats.

After 8+ years of Obama sewing racial division and increasing the racial divide to an extent that was not widely anticipated, the Democrats political tent is crumbling. Their tent is becoming too small to hold all of their traditional special interest groups.

Without the coalition of many special interest groups that was used with great political skill by both Mr. Clinton and Mr. Obama to cobble together the votes needed for eight years in the big house, the Democrats are going to find themselves on the outside looking in for a long time. The path to success for Democrats has always been uniting the many special interest groups into hating on the "others" on the right, and hating big business, and hating the lucky one percenters, and hating on those that cling to guns and bibles, and hating on any other  group that the Democrats can use to stir up envy and greed and class/racial divisions. That is the traditional Democratic playbook. But once they lose control of the small special interest groups and these groups start hating on each other inside the Democratic tent, then they are going to be lost and wandering in the wilderness for a generation. Or more.

Georgia state Rep. Stacey Evans, a white Democrat seeking the party’s nomination for governor, struggled to get through her speech Saturday at the Netroots Nation Conference in Atlanta as supporters of her Democratic rival, state Rep. Stacey Abrams, who is black, repeatedly shouted over her.Ms. Abrams, who hopes to become the country’s first black female governor, was “treated like royalty” at the liberal event compared to Ms. Evans, who could barely eke out a sentence over disruptions and chants of “support black women,” The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

Ms. Abrams, on the other hand, said she would not “condemn peaceful protest” and that the demonstrators were simply voicing their grievances over Ms. Evans’ positions on education.“From what I observed from Savannah, activists in Atlanta peacefully protested this morning on the critical issue of preserving public education for every family in our state,” she wrote in a series of tweets Saturday. “The mantra of ‘trust black women’ is an historic endorsement of the value of bringing marginalized voices to the forefront, not a rebuke to my opponent’s race.”The race between Ms. Abrams, who dedicated her Netroots message to mobilizing black voters, and Ms. Evans, who has focused mainly on winning back white working-class voters, has caused a divide in the state’s Democratic party, the Journal-Constitution reported.

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

This quote from MLK embodies all that is good about America. We need more people to follow this wisdom. And believe it about yourself and believe it about others.

We must care more about the content of our character, than we do about the color of our skin.

Please upvote if you missed this episode at Democratic Netroots over the week-end in Atlanta.  MSM was focused on Charlottesville. Which gave them a great excuse for not have to focus or talk about this event in Georgia.

STEEM On!!

Here are two parties that have overtime changed their facades for various reasons while both claiming to hold true to some Golden Age principles. I for one Am Tired of the "BLACK LIVES MATTER MOVEMENT" as it is today. It maybe had a legitimate point to make when it sought to bring attention to why so many "African Americans" were killed at the hands of Police, that is a legitimate purpose and something that could be looked at and both the "Community" and "Law enforcement" could have come to terms and better understanding to resolve or improve the situation. But then it suddenly became its own Party thinking that it had the right to define racism and began to see it everywhere, and I don't care how they wish to put it, once you step outside of Police Brutality or any other specific problem and broaden its scope, then it is a form of a Nationalist movement. Its like so many Actors who after one Blockbuster Movie insist on recording an Album and making us listen to bullshit music. Not me. The Democratic party is not fooling anyone either, most of us know its history well and having changed its slogan over the years and put up its stakes and torches began to develop social programs that destroyed so called "black" families by dividing black mothers from their children's fathers and essentially destroying a people's survival instincts, by coming up with BullShht laws that eroded common sense and lead to the very police/lawsuit state we have today. And The Grand Ole Party is not innocent either and has been infiltrated by some greedy Industrialist who see the nation not as a home but as a Corporation, the most profitable in the world and was willing to forego its CEOs character in favor of their Business acumen, what once was a decisive and stubborn party when it came to its values has now become a caricature that is willing to accept any hocus pocus in order to stick it to the opposition. And as a corporation is now enjoying the pains that most major corporations from the old age felt when faced with a longer living still present Baby Boomer generation that will not shut up about what it was like in the good old days when women knew to stay in the kitchens and Negroes knew their way to the field. If we do not step up to the plate, us, we, this generation, the Blockchain generation. We will lose our planet, this isn't about America anymore. If Don "big mouth till kingdom Come" Trump and Kim "look at me please look at me please I'm a real soldier" Jung Un have their ways, we will be set back hundreds of years. Sorry for the long post like comment, but yes "If I walk into a room and I hear a democratic Chant of "trust xxxx race" I know it is what it is..."Racist" its a race for race.

if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it is a duck. no matter what color it is

More than 100 years later , yet racism still exists , justice is not always served , so much goes on , yet who can we blame when it seems to be on going coercion from both sides . It's never right to point one party out

Both parties have more than a fair share of hypocrites and ineffective leadership.

Democratic event in Atlanta over the week-end was pure racism in action.

But Republicans are not in a good position to take the moral high ground. There are examples of racism in that party as well.

Most Americans condemn racism. From all parties.

But there are some bad eggs that continue to try to use racism for political advantage.

Sadly this is a never ending cycle , the future just seems scary to think of when we have conflicts like these

Attack the color of the woman's skin rather than the issues she's running on. That's mental illness at it's finest.

They are trying to put the genie back in the bottle, and claim the protest was really about policy.

But, hmmm, seriously, is that why the signs and chants were all "Trust Black Women"??

The democrats party is going down the drain. Bunch of crybabies who dont know the meaning of democaracy.

I wish it was more obvious the Republicans deserve to be able to take the high moral ground.

But both parties are in a general fairly pathetic state at this moment in time.

The moment is ripe for some politician that has high moral courage to emerge and provide leadership in the US.

Agreed. I would love Trey Gowdy to step up.

Do you mean Ted Cruz, Trey Gowdy, or a fictional amalgam that is 50/50 and we will call him Ted Gowdy?

lol sorry I meant Gowdy. But i guess we can try the fictional character. He might be better than the last few.

Wow, the twitterbot was all over that post in less than 60 seconds. Important to control the spin on the story out of Atlanta. Don't want the news getting too widely spread about the outright show of racism inside the Democratic party. Gotta put out cover on that ASAP.

Congrats to Ms. Abrams for having an amazing technology team.

But I'm not changing the heart of my post. What happened in Atlanta on Saturday was 100% pure racism, inside the Democratic party, and would never have been sanctioned or approved by MLK Jr.

I would love if you could make an opinion about the position of The Democratic Party about Venezuela situation today.

The Democratic party has taken black people for granted for decades. This was bound to happen....and we will see if blacks leave the Democratic party altogether.
