I Am Not A "Gun Guy" But I Dont Believe In Gun Prohibition - Heres Why

in #politics6 years ago (edited)

Whenever the gun topic comes up and I express my views, people always get this idea that I am a big gun guy or something, which is totally the wrong idea. I have only ever touched one gun in my life, my friends carry all the time and it doesn't bother me, but its just not my thing.

The reason why I have a problem with gun laws has very little to do with my feelings about guns, and everything to do with my feelings about prohibition.

I understand that prohibition of objects does not work, and causes unintended consequences that are many times much worse than the original problem that the prohibition was intended to fix.

Prohibitions do not get rid of the banned item in questions, it simply gives corrupt cops another reason to search people, fine people, and put them in cages. Prohibitions also create conditions where people are more prone to violence when dealing with the banned items since there is no means of open dispute resolution in the black market.

This is the exact reason why I think that heroin should be legal even though I know it temporarily steals your soul.

Prohibition doesn't work, and in fact, makes the problems that it seeks to solve much worse.

Firstly, it's important to say that not all cancers kill you. Overall, more than 50% of people diagnosed with cancer live for more than 5 years. Some cancers have survival rates of more than 90%, great articles.

The only thing that I can say is I am going to resteem this post and upvote it more than that I am already one of your followers, So I will be so glad if you follow me too. Thanks.

Hey

Your doing very well keep it up:)

Statists don't get that government is simply defined as (a monopoly on the use of force), even though it is not defined that way in a dictionary. Therefore, if you want guns outlawed, the state's enforcers will have to use guns to carry out that action and have them removed. Seems simple to understand, but most simply don't get it. That means anti-gun people aren't actually anti-gun; it is simply that they disagree who can have the guns. That is a very dangerous!!!
