Time to make a Move

in #poloniex10 years ago (edited)

STEEM is growing and it's time again to make a move as a community to add STEEM to Poloniex with some team effort.

If you do not have an account on poloniex you can sign up here:

Poloniex reviews coin submissions and makes decisions based on several criteria. Where applicable, a coin must have:

  • A block explorer
  • A website
  • A unique genesis block
  • A compiled wallet
We also conduct a thorough code review before a coin is added on our exchange. In addition, we like to see evidence of the developers' dedication to the project, community interest, and above all else, innovation. If you feel your coin is truly innovative, we want to hear about it. Poloniex never requests payments to list coins.

These are the rules for adding coins. They also take into account the community demand, so all the steemians need to fill the coin request form located here:

This is some info you will need to complete the form: ( Thanks Teamsteem )

This part of the coin submission form is important, please make sure to include your thoughts about steemit.

Poloniex:

A US-based cryptocurrency exchange offering maximum security and advanced trading features.

  • it's also one of the biggest altcoin exchanges, and a popular playground for major investors.

It is a good practice to follow Poloniex on twitter and tweet to them about steemit:

Do not spam twitter or the chat box on the website.

Here is the message I left them.

You know that coin. Let both of us not lose time over this. Not sure why it's not on poloniex yet.

Also,

Coin's symbol: steem
Blockchain explorer: https://steemd.com/
Steem's website: https://steem.io/

Thank you, that is important info to add to this post indeed.
I will update.

Actually they don't really consider request volume. Here's a chat with OldManKidd, senior Poloniex mod and part-time support guy:

[17:27:49] <PFunk> Hey if you're around, I think you said way back when that Poloniex doesn't really consider the volume of coin requests, and a lot of them could actually be counter-productive. Is that the case?

[17:28:32] <OldManKidd> yes and correct it is not voting

[17:28:51] <OldManKidd> how many requests for a coin does not influence the decision

[17:29:06] <PFunk> Ok, thanks for clarifying!

I cannot see Poloniex adding Steem before 4th July. There simply isn't the liquidity. I don't think it's a bad thing. I'd rather Steemit continue to build a healthy-sized and active community ahead of any trading fun and games.

liquidity will skyrocket after listed on Poloniex!

Agree. The argument of not enough liquidity is circular.
