Discovering Our Most Valuable Asset

Most of us are lucky enough to have some forms of assets in our lives. Whether it be the standard 401K, a car, a house, or a collection of precious metals, chances are if you're reading this you have at least a few things in your possession that hold value. Unfortunately, in recent months, many of the more liquid assets may have taken sharp hits in value (though the stock market seems to be steadily climbing somehow).
When we can watch in real-time as the worth of the things we've acquired over the years plummets, our cortisol levels understandably spike, sleep is harder, and finding ways to relax can seem much harder than they used to.

Despite the economic turmoil that so many have felt recently, there's a powerful reminder from the up-and-coming internet artist "Visualize Value " that reframes everything beautifully:

you are the most valuable asset in your portfolio.

No matter your socioeconomic status, checking account balance, number of cars parked in the driveway, or simply whether you have a job at the moment, your worth lies completely within yourself. Every 7.5 billion of us on this planet possess a skill set that is completely unique to us; my talents are different than yours, and yours are different from your relatives'. The beauty of being human; as similar as we all are on a genetic level, how extraordinarily different we are on a personality level.

Our stocks may be down, our moods may be too, but we can't forget about all of the potentials that we possess. Our souls contain so much potential it's almost hard to comprehend; the only thing we need to do is to actually take action with them. Just as investment accounts grow, so do our abilities. But those accounts are almost always tapped into someday. There's no reason why your talents should be any different.

"A Single Seed" is my attempt to get out one idea every day that I've learned or accumulated over the years, with the hope that it may stick in someone else's memory bank as well. The idea may be related to fitness, business, life, or philosophy, but I think you'll find that many can change domains if you wish them to. With each seed planted, a new life awaits.
