Distinguished Gentleman's Ride:

This past Sunday, it was time for the yearly Distinguished Gentleman's Ride . The DGR is a world wide event where bikers dress up and go for a ride on classic bikes. (Not all bikes are classic, but they should at least look the part, thus no supper bikes) This ride is to raise funds for men's health. I provide the link to their site at the end if you would like to read more about this.

With the world still in the grip of Covid-19, it was decided that this years ride would be solo, but in South Africa, most restrictions has been lifted, thus we had some smaller group rides. (Normally we all get together, with over a 1000, bikes present)

A few friends got together at some shops close to us, and drove together to the starting point which was a few kilo's away. You can see our steads in the photo at the top.

The next few photos, shows where we met for the start. Everybody was looking at the bikes, having some coffee and socializing around the bikes!!

Our next stop was at the Ou Raadsaal (Old Council Hall) This building housed the South African Parliament from 1881 to 1902, and I will write a separate post about this at a later stage.

We met a few people on scooters, mostly Vespas, that were also doing the DGR, at this stop,

Our second last stop was the Voortrekker Monument on which I will also write a post a bit later in the week.
