A Single Seed: Making It Big

Ask most people what their goals are, and a large majority will include "success" in one form or another in their answer. Success is different for every person, but common examples are landing a dream job, finding your soulmate, or acquiring some large possession such as a house. All worthy goals, and things that will no doubt bring some form of happiness and signify that you did indeed achieve something you shot for. But, as the book "The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari" quips,

"Success on the outside begins with success on the inside."

We all crave external validation to some extent. It feels good to see your dreams manifested in one way or another, and there's certainly nothing wrong with wanting to show off a new purchase or celebrate a big life event (within reason of course). But in order to see success from outside sources, it seems necessary to work through what's inside first. Our insecurities, self-limiting beliefs, and trauma are all human qualities, but can be worked through with the proper healing. Everyone's way of facing these things can and will be different, but whether it's a therapist, a journal, or meditation, the healing will happen when you meet the issues head-on.

It's scary, it hurts, but in the end it's necessary. You've gotta feel to heal.

"A Single Seed" is my attempt to get out one idea every day that I've learned or accumulated over the years, with the hope that it may stick in someone else's memory bank as well. The idea may be related to fitness, business, life, or philosophy, but I think you'll find that many can change domains if you wish them to. With each seed planted, a new life awaits.
