That's right, we may have had a slight set back in our initial move to our new homestead, however, not all was "lost".
Because our move was planned to go in three different trips, the first being us and our essentials, then our stuff from the house we are renting and last but not least, the containers (currently at a logistics yard) we didn't lose much in the unforeseen flooding.
One of the things that is still there are our prepps for the planned food forest.
Believe it or not, we started the food forest preps while living in a city/urban area. Ensuring that we have what is needed to get started once we get to our new homestead site.
We learned from past experiences that "building" is only part of the process. Back at our old homestead (overseas) all our efforts went into buidling the home, the workshop etc and no planting in those years. If we had started planting from day one, we would have had a high yielding orchard of various fruits, but because we didn't, when we left there, the new owner will have the pleasure of enjoying a young fruit orchard. With apples, apricots, plums, cherries, walnuts, chestnuts, almonds and numerous other trees.
So, this time, we know, PLANT TREES & OTHER PLANTS EVERY YEAR!
FROM DAY #1.

I've been plant a lot of fruit and berry plants lately while building up some raised garden beds. Lot's of work but it will pay off. Good to see you have lots of plants started.
We've been through it all once before, but yeah, it is still a long way to where we should've already been. But then again, such is life, can't expect anything good in a bucket of rotten apples and this world is full of maggots, just waiting to feed off anything they can.
