The next on-going #promo-steem initiative is called Proof of Purchase.
You can earn an upvote in two different ways, by sharing a site that accepts Steem (must list a place that isn't already listed in comments.)
The other way to earn an upvote is to post proof that you used Steem to buy something.
For instance, I just used Steem to buy a Poker Hud (Heads up display) from https://www.sharkscope.com/
This time I used a website called https://www.coinpayments.net/

I used to only deposit Steem into an online poker room I used, but they use HITBTCPAYMENTS - and Steem is currently having issues with HITBTC.
If anyone knows of a way to resolve that, please do so as there are merchants out there that use HITBTC.
Rules: Buy something with Steem and make a post about it & post the link with proof of purchase in the comments section of this post. Tweet what you bought using #Steem and tag the company that you bought from on Twitter. If you are sharing where you can buy something with Steem, Tweet what you can buy and tag the company you're recommending. Post both your Steem POP post + Twitter tweet links below.

Haven't purchased anything from them but basically any website can accept STEEM Payments using Shopping Cart Plugins created by CoinPayments.

How often do people pay in steem a month?
Not NEARLY enough ...yet ;-)... working on the system that will issue BRAAIB as 'loyalty tokens' for real-world purchases... and then hopefully it will become a daily occurrence as people will be able to get "free chow/beer" after every 5th fiat purchase (assuming they don't sell their tokens instead).
For now it's literally just 3 of my mates that I 'forced to join STEEM' a few months back that have ever purchased using STEEM.

Well, the truth is, I had been trying to build and yes, I have been here for two years, but, things are better now.
Hell I bought this year's SSG round with STEEM
I will admit to using all my extra money for tipping as my upvote generally runs out of steem. I hope #MarketFriday and with that many comments and posts to upvote, it goes fast... Not complaining, just explaining that was my way of giving back to people when my upvote was so low.

A quick way to buy anything would be some Steem monsters cards. Some are as cheap as $0.01 US cent each. But I think people can pay for all sorts of services if they can agree on the Steem price.
Theycallmedan so you spend all this time and effort to bring people to steems eco system. I ask you why bother? If they start making money and having fun enjoying what steem has to offer the trolls who live to down vote for copy pasting titles, voting for your friends or the same authors you enjoy will drive them away.
They still have no clue at Steemit Inc (also known as Stinc). One of the top witness got up on stage at steem fest and said ... wait for it ..... WE NEED MORE FLAGGING! and no one threw eggs at him.
Until this mind set changes steem is dead. Flags should be ONLY for hate groups, scams, and porn in the wrong area.
Communities and SMTs will change the reward pool disagreements. Trolling is just as bad on any other website, it's just when you mix money in it turns into more drama. It isn't easy starting a new social media website, and I think Steem has done a great job so far.

I love this idea! I know it doesn´t count but back in November last year at a SteemFest afterparty in Krakow, my buddy @matkodurko paid for my beers in a pub and I paid those back to him in Steem :D Anyway, this is a great challenge and I am looking forward to checking all the sites that accept Steem :)

What is this? The website is really lousy at explaining it. Does it only work with certain sites? I assume it analyzes your games and helps predict what your best move is?
It tells me how much a player has made at a website, how many games, what stakes, etc.

Once upon a time I sold Steem merchandise and accepted Steem for payment.
A few people actually bought stuff using Steem but most people preferred to pay in Fiat.
Unfortunately the cost to maintain the store became too much. But perhaps now that my cashflow is better I should get the store up and running again and design my merchandise for global appeal rather than just Australian designs.
