Empty As a Pocket!

"EMPTY AS A POCKET," as the song goes... I've been emptying the Grow Bags, slowly, over the last few days. Some may know, I have been very sick these past two weeks, so slowly, I am winding down the fall garden, and

breaking up any greenery, or dead branches, and placing most of the soil into one of two piles: The compost pile and the soil pile. Compost pile gets broken down branches, and soil, to make compost, and the soil pile is stricktly soil for starting pots in spring.

The soil is there, and to the right, you begin to see the branches and plants in the compost pile.

Still left outside are the herbs above. I've moved two planters indoors for growing lettuce and Arugula during winter.

Below are the remaining sweet pepper and on the right, the last purple pepper plant. Its almost dead, so that will go to compost tomorrow.

Below, Nothing but dead tomato plants to go to comp
ost tomorrow, and empty spaces where the grow bags were! Such a difference from the lush greens of mid summer!

Below, There were some remaining tomato on the vines as I pulled them and tossed into compost, so, I will keep them over a few days to see what ripens and what ends up as Green Tomato Chutney or salsa.

I chatted some while outside, with my neighbor, and we agreed, it seemed to be a banner year. I know for her son and daughter, they simply loved it. They are new to the street, and it was a fun time, showing them the garden and allowing them to come pick a few tomato each day for daily snacks. They helped by watering, and picking too. ANY chance to introduce young kids to gardening and planting for themselves, is a good time.

It's important: If you HAVE EXCESS, give to others... SHARE!
I believe this with my heart.

Hi @bluefinstudios . How do you feel now? Hope you are getting stronger? I hope you had a great season this year!

Very soon, snow is gonna cover the garden as you prepare for the next season.

Are we gonna see pictures of the garden covered with snow?

This is from the beginning of the season last year. I will post an updated one, when our first snow hits!

And thank you for asking... I am feeling SO MUCH better!

IMG_0122.JPG

Thank you for the picture! I love snow pictures so much, maybe because I haven't seen one in real time lol.

Oh, dear! You should see when it starts to build up deep!
Sometimes it gets almost 2 Meters deep.

AND, on the mountains near where @dreemsteem lives, it can get to be 3 or 4 meters deep!

in fact, @dreemsteem that time I visited in April a few years ago, how long was it since it snowed? The snow was at least 2 and a half meters and hadn't snowed in some time.
