Most of you know, I prefer to grow my own food, locally. It's healthier for my family, and for the planet. I know what goes into my foods, and what chemicals are NOT in my food. Also, It cuts down on carbon emissions, less trucking, planes, trains, and boats, to get fresh foods to my table.
And that makes me smile... better for the planet, better for my own family.

.That looks delicious! 2 days simmering Wow The last step for us in using up all the bird is usually some turkey or chicken salad. We've been buying whole chickens some lately.
2 days simmering for making the broth. THEN, I make the soup. And freeze some of the broth for use when making other soups. We eat all the turkey we can: leftovers, pilgrim sandwiches (turkey, stuffing, cranberry in the sandwich) and turkey salad, too.
