I think Plagiarism is a very big crime. It is actually taking credit for something you actually didn't work in any way for.
It is painful to see someone going through the stress of publishing an article only to have another take credit for it, that's unfair and downright painful.
I think Plagiarism is a type of fraud and obviously should be punishable.

I think the introduction of the downvotes as a way of curbing Plagiarism is a really nice idea. It's good to see that there's actually a system in place to monitor plagerised posts and deal heavily with them.
I think nothing can entirely stop plagerism because it is the normal human nature and it'll continue to happen no matter how much we fight it but the good thing about fighting it is that it becomes reduced to a very large extent and that's the aim. we'll get to a point where we'll not hardly see plagerised posts on this platform but it doesn't mean it'll end entirely.
Another thing is most authors need to learn to give credit for whatever content they borrow, be it images or quotes and so on.
Let's just work together to ensure that the Hive is a better place, there's no room for criminality.

Good morning

Nothing is impossible.
And nobody would like to do anything that will harm himself.
If there is any form of plagarism in this community it is mostly caused by new members and that's because most of them are ignorance of plagarism in this community. But for old members who have known it punishment for it don't even dare to do it

That's right. It's a punishable crime.

I think many people have talk d about it in their posts and as such, active engager should have spotted it and taken note of it.

Those who refuse to heed to instructions would fall victims.

It's not punished enough. Very few people act against it.

Few people act against it and those who don't heed would definitely fall victim in one way or the other.
