I spent untold hours with my kids in Minecraft years back before Steem/Hive. I think I still have the old account but I'm playing a slightly different version with my adult son now along with a few other games on the Steam platform.
It's like Minecraft called Deep Rock Galatic as space dwarves digging in the dark caves for gold, minerals and goodies facing dangerous bugs, gravity, and rival tech.

No, though it is hard to explain why not; having been an active gamer all my life. Is it an MMO or more of a coop style game play?
Single player is just survival and Multiplayer worlds can be created. It's not something I was ever interested in, until I just wanted to model something in 3D and other programs were not as simple. Minecraft seemed like the easier option, but when you really get to learn how to survive, it is farm building, but also survival at night. Monsters come out and destroy you and your base if you aren't super careful. A bed will help you sleep through the night but you have to find and shear sheep.
