When we are born we come out of our mother's womb naked. Some babies may have some form of handicap but majority of babies have all the normal features of a human being. So in that regards majority of us all start out at the same spot. However as we grow older we find out our placement in life.
Whether we choose to move in the right direction by contributing to society in a positive way and accepting what the world give us, or we choose not to do anything is our own free will to do so.
