Psychology studies any type of behavior that occurs in the human being that is medically detected and that is not accepted socially or medically speaking. It is a behavior that moves away from the behavior patterns that are typical of a person considered by many as someone "normal".
Many people who visit the offices of a psychologist do so with the purpose of re-starting again after having suffered the loss of a loved one, a material good or for other different causes. There is also the kind of person who thinks that going to entrust their problems or pains to a psychologist is going to waste time, because the psychologist is not in their shoes to solve their problems.
The most accurate definition of what psychology is is explained as the study of the mind of the human being which helps us see things more clearly and guides us in one way or another to solve certain problems without needing to hurt or break us the head thinking that problems have no solution.
Psychological Current
What differentiates one psychologist from another is usually the Psychological Currents in which they specialize. The Psychological Currents are several, some are more studied and used, while others not so much and each focuses on different types of problems and serves to treat different patients. Sometimes professionals who follow several Psychological Currents and use several different to treat a problem are often seen.
Modern Psychological Currents:
The psychotherapy:
Focuses on the past of the individual to try to get to understand your present and achieve order your inner world. In this current, a lot is inquired into the person's past to look for the origin of the problem that affects them.
Conductism:
Contrary to focusing on the past as psychotherapy does, behaviorism is more focused on the present. Behaviorism is ideal for dealing with problems and conflicts that have already been diagnosed. The final idea is that negative actions and thoughts are replaced by fresh and constructive ones. It basically seeks to change the patient's behavior.
Humanist:
This current tries to get the best out of the individual and try to restore his inner calm. The patient is guided so that he can find for himself the causes of his illnesses. The idea is that the person manages to connect with herself.
Gestalt:
Feelings play a very important role here. Before acting, the patient must learn to check their emotions to be aware of them. This helps him to know himself primarily at a sentimental and intellectual level.
Cognitive behavior:
The last great modern current. It focuses on trying to change the way of thinking and thinking of the person. As more rational thinking is adopted, the feelings of the individual can change.
