The inner animal of the human race

The human race

Humanity distinguishes itself from animals because of it's braincapacity and ability to think further than just food and a place to sleep. We have made it so far, that a whole society has been built in a farely small era (+/- 10000 years) since we left the nomad age. We create comfort, stability, entertainment, health care, etc... Animals still do not have the brain power to accomplish that.

But we still are a long way from being the perfect form of society. We don't even know what the perfect form is... At least, I don't. It makes us interesting that way. That comfort and stability principle gives us loads of stress to keep on maintaining that. Which bring us to our weakest point, entertainment.

What is entertainment?

For some people entertainment is watching a soccer game, or going for a long walk or watch an opera or a play... For others it is a little more animalistic. It's shouting and cheering like a wild man (remember our roots) and getting wasted on illegal or legal drugs.
I am not judging here, just observing. Both ways of entertainment have come my way, and there is a time and place for both if you ask me.

It just intrigues me a lot how we can sometimes behave like animals, me included, although we have distinguished ourselves so much from animals since we became stationary.
It is if you asked me, a necessary evil to every soul of our human race, to release our inner beast.
As long as we do not bother or hamper other people with it, I see no harm in it. To the contrary, it cleanses our crowded brain from all the responsabilities our brain hasn't had the chance to adapt yet.

We are still very much animals in our brains, if you think about it. Evolution has taken us out of the animal status too fast. Our brains haven't had the chance to adapt to that fact yet.

That is why, when we go to a music festival we try to drink a beer from a meter higher than our mouths and our friends cheer for that. I can see no other reason... Do you?

I think it's the alcohol, when we drink we release our inner monkey, we just think about sex, doing stupid things, grunting and more sex!

Maybe alcohol quickens things up, but not all of them need the alcohol to release the inner monkey! ;-)

I agree with you, maybe our brain sometimes is so crowded that it search for our must basic instincts to have some relief, also it is a good way to go through stress! good post!

yes really distinguished .
