Saw this one on my f-c-book feed
Really easy to solve, so straight forward, did it all in my head.
But i usually do this kind of puzzle with five spaces and eight colors.
One of my big problems is that this is so easy for me, i find it hard to contemplate that there are people who can't do it, even with pen and paper and all the time to think.
I would like to know why you would think to build puzzle games on Hive.
What does the platform bring that is good for that?
If i understand correctly, you have a bot running on some other server, that would watch for its name, and then reply with start of game or response in game.
Then all you have is a permanent record of your solutions or failures.
Not sure what it all gets to.
Puzzles are extremely popular. Most (mainstream) outlets still have their daily puzzles and they wouldn't waste the ad real estate if people didn't buy for the puzzles.
During lockdown sudoku even became a viewer sport. Yes, I kid you not.
Indeed, I'm a gamer and I still don't understand Twitch.tv
However, the real power of gaming on the blockchain will be decentralizing ownership of said game. In this case the puzzle-makers provably own the puzzles they create and get paid directly for the quality/quantity of their work (in theory).
As you well know, the entire point of crypto is decentralization. Ownership of the games must be decentralized in a provable way. In this case, the puzzle-makers provably own the puzzles they create and they get paid for doing that.
I've also spoken many times about how bots need to be mitigated when dealing with blockchain gaming. Digital resources become worthless if an army of bots can farm them. Puzzles/mini-games can help play a part in mitigating bots from invading the space, sort of like a CAPTCHA system within another game that creates farmed digital assets.
If the puzzle was that easy for you I would imagine you'd be good at creating them.
Don't be surprised if it becomes easier to make money around here in the years to come.
Many of the proof-of-brain activities that come to Hive will be far less subjective than blogging and networking.
My problem has always been can i do it daily.
If i am not continuing to provide a puzzle, then it just loses momentum and dies.
I also do not know what level people want to be challenged.
The simple puzzles i would make might be too hard.
And, if i made combination puzzles like the one above, just changing the numbers, then why not just have a computer create it?
