Some Questions about Steemit

I've noticed certain users getting hundreds of dollars on a single post. Now I understand they put in the time & effort and most likely have been here much longer than I have. Yet I've put in at least an hour into posts in the past and have received next to nothing in $Steem & very little upvotes.

Am I doing something wrong? Is my content not interesting? Or have I simply not been around long enough to be worthy of receiving upvotes/Steem? Genuinely interested because I'm a writer seeking to make it in the world & so far I'm barely able to make a dime doing what I love. Hopefully there is a simple fix to my questions. I will continue posting content and my only hope is that you find it interesting. Getting paid would be a bonus for me. But it would also allow me to focus more heavily on doing this more often. Otherwise I need to find different ways to pay the bills. Living ain't cheap. They say money can't buy happiness. Well it sure pays the rent.

Sort:

People who earn hundreds have friends who have invested in Steemit or they have invested themself and are paying bot to upvote their posts or they have friends who have delegated Steem Power. Don't expect to make money if you don't belong to a group where people are automatically voting for each others. But you can still have fun and this is more important !

Welllll I'm not opposed to this. I happen to think I write extremely on point content. How do I join one of these groups? I'm a better writer than 75% of people out there.

make a post and ask this question ! use the asa tag and the @askanything logo. ;)

It's just like on every other social media platform.. Grinding is real :D
