Life gives us enough to be occupied by, such that we forget the people in it. A higher life is marked by the capacity to reach out in love and be a light to other persons. This defines the worth of our existence far greater than all our possessions.
Here one might begin to think of distant lands to volunteer with the Red Cross or some other organisation for global aid. Not necessarily! Preferably, start from where you are: your partner, your kids, your relatives, your community.
Shine your light, illuminate lives one by one till it affects the world. Then you would have lived, because you lived for others as well.
