Only 6 beers!?!?!! lol Great job, I was going to suggest this. Did a small promo via HiveWhat's Twitter yesterday and will be highlighting the charity (and giveaway) again this weekend. The Foundation's website can also use an upgrade or at least a mention that donations are accepted in Hive/cryptocurrency.

A great thank you also @donald.porter for stepping up to the plate to help this great cause.

We hope that some other giants in the crypto #hive world would also stake their names to this #charitygiveaway project.

Our website here in South Africa was designed and is hosted Pro-Bono by a caring soul that owns an IT company and I can ask her to add a hive/cryptocurrency link.
The website is also PayPal linked.

Thank you also for your planned promotion this weekend and we pray that it will be a great success.

Friday is the best day to drink beer.
I'm hoping this charity thing works out well. The week1 post is basically ready, but best to wait a few more days. We will probably make a community, too. What it eventually turns into depends on demand I guess.

Good work, I'm thinking about adding beempy draw...

Have a look at how @croupierbot used to work. Two step draw.

  1. Announce future block to use for draw.
  2. Use witness signature in deterministic draw.

Thanks.
That will open up a lot of possibilities.
I've got a few other ideas, but I'm still very new to Python and relying a lot on google searches. Afraid to start something too big now since even the simpler ideas are still a challenge.

A wonderful effort here and it will certainly boost our trust and fairness focus my friend.

I also like that new tag #weeklyhivecharitygiveaway and it emphasizes our determination to establish a reciprocal system of giving and receiving!

This is a self generating project, designed to avoid the "cap in hand" soliciting status and also the consistent, irritating requests for donations.

At Papillon we are proud of our charity work and it is a great feeling to be able to give back to those that support us!

A sincere thank you for your time and efforts here @abitcoinsceptic
We are very impressed by your "rusted" skills.
And we truly appreciate it!

Thank you for your kind comments. Next, I need to try to automate the participant list generation. Then, link up the two. For now, I will have to rely on some other service and my manual efforts. I'm sure it will be worthwhile as a few people like the idea.

Totally agreed and looking forward to our growth as it is based upon honesty and fairness. A sound foundation to build upon my friend!

I have picked your post for my daily hive voting initiative, Keep it up and Hive On!!

Thank you sir!

Greetings. I'm a python trainee and I'll take advantage of the fact that you put the code to practice (I'll read it from the image and transcribe it). Thanks for sharing.

Very good initiative: "Weekly Hive Charity Giveaway"

Thanks. I hope the code serves you well. I'm also learning myself amd I am sure a lot better code exists. Try the #beempy stuff by @holger80, he just made a draw feature that is really fun tonexplore, but maybe not beginner level to fully understand.

A few years back I had a little bot for a similar purpose. @croupierbot.

Have a look here to see how it worked.

It announced a future block it would be using first. Then used the witness signature of that block to do an indisputably fair draw. Maybe something similar could be something for you to strive for.

This looks like it was a great adventure for you. Congratulations coding something functional.

Thanks. I've used it a few times now for the weekly draw. We are on week 4 now. As soon as I finished a much more capable programmer here integrated something similar (and much more functional) into his platform. This is good. These tools were badly needed because we had a few 'RNG' events that were starting to become suspicious. His tool can be used by anyone since it is available online

I wanted to get back into coding, but I'm so busy with many other things. I'm secretly hoping I get laid off work so I can do all the things I need free time to do.

Very funny, We pay unemployment insurance every month but never see it. From time to time I had wished I wouldn't get my contract renewed so I can do something different. Now I'm very content here.
