The Annual Ballbreaker is coming up soon!

in #running3 years ago

The Ballbreaker is an annual run that we do that is much longer than a normal run. It tends to be between 20 and 30 km so this is not your usual walk in the park. We have some hilly terrain this year (or at least that is what the Hare is threatening - we'll see later if he means it.)

We had been holding off on announcing the date of the Ballbreaker and last year it was in January. We were waiting in the hopes that something was going to change in regards to immigration and the ability for our members to get back into Thailand but it has become rather apparent that this is not going to end up being the case. Therefore we have decided to go ahead and get it done and a little bit early this year in and effort to try to dodge the upcoming smokey season.

The Ballbreaker has a lot more go into it than a normal run and therefore it starts 5 hours earlier than our usual evening runs. A lot of planning goes into this and we only have one hare setting trail for us this year. "Byte my Yahoo" is making the entire trail on his own this year and he is being very covert about what it is going to entail although these elevated pictures he has provided should give some people a reason to be a bit worried.

At Ballbreakers we always have a number of bail out station that also serve as beer points as well. If you feel as though your balls are already broken at any of the safety stops you are welcome to be a little bitch and bail out. However, if you want top marks for total completion you need to make it all the way through unassisted. If you want to be a true hero, you will finish the outdoor half-marathon AND drink a beer at every one of the beer checks.

Do you have what it takes to take on the Ballbreaker? Well come and join us on the 28th of December if you do (or think you do.) The event is open to men and women, children are allowed only with an accompanying Hash parent. Full details are available at our official website HERE
