One of my running aims this year is to put in a lot more miles, so I need to do some longer runs as well as running more frequently. I'm thinking I could do two shorter runs in the week plus parkrun as I did yesterday as well as my Sunday run. My daughter has just started running, so perhaps she can come with me sometimes.
Today I just aimed to do a bit more than my usual 10km. I forked off towards the parkrun course and ran part of that before heading back. There were quite a few other runners out in ones and twos going the other way, but I don't think anyone overtook me. I was taking it fairly steady and just had a brief walk on the steepest hill. I'm happy enough to average under 6min/km. I was back to my road shoes rather than my new trail shoes.

I was just reading the latest from @trevor.george about his 60km race that he did 2 hours quicker than last time. I don't think I'm ready for that just yet, but I'd like to test how far I can run by extending my runs.
Some other runners you could check out are @run.vince.run, @ervin-lemark, @toofasteddie, @self-track (AKA @revisesociology) and @lloyddavis. All these people inspire me and we can encourage each other. Most of them are part of @RunningProject that gives us votes and re-steems.

@trevor.george has done an epic race. 2 hours less is crazy.
Running consistently is just an accumulative improvement process.
Keep on running!

I'm not sure I could even walk that far in a day. He said a walker passed him. I have no plans to stop any time soon :)
Good for you, Steve, I'm looking forward to seeing your runs get longer. I think I need to get back into a regular rhythm of running every other day before I start pushing further, but my goal is to be comfortably running 10k by the summer.
You should be able to achieve that. Your body has to get used to it and will adapt. I'm hoping mine can stand more running.
well the furthest I've done so far is just over 6k. I didn't die! And I also felt like I could have carried on some more.
Just think about how many people couldn't do that! It can be quite satisfying to see what you can achieve.
I know, like me this time last year. I had no idea that it was possible.
@trevor.geoge 's performance improvement was pretty epic! I can't imagine doing 60km on foot.
I was hoping to get out again this weekend but feel rotten with a cold and have had some twinges in my leg. Will take it easy and aim to get out one evening during the week. I can make the most of the dark evenings as I'm pretty self conscious about other seeing me wobbling up the road.
Hope you feel better soon. My legs seem to be holding up, but the cold is lingering a bit. I've got over caring what anyone thinks of me. I get some cheery 'good morning's from some of the lady runners :)
Every day is a good day when you run.
