Sunday run: The grass is not always greener

in #running7 years ago

Well the grass is greener than it was a few weeks ago due to lots of rain. I was at a party last night which meant a late night for me, but I wasn't drinking as I had to drive. I eventually dragged myself out of bed for a run. Not too hot, but a bit windy to start with. I did my regular loop that includes a long climb, but is it really 491m over the run? There are no big hills around here. I managed to leave Endomondo running after I got home. The run was only an hour really.

Run

This was just as I reached 10km. The pub where I play music has an OAP deal that I am getting dangerously close to being entitled to. Okay, so I have a few years yet. Home is just up the road behind me.

Back for breakfast of cereal with banana plus some berries from the garden. I felt the need for ice in my juice as I was pretty warm. An opportunity to catch up with the news.

When does the OAP deal kick in then @steevc? 65? 😁

Not sure if you have to show a bus pass to get it. I've got the grey hair already.

I've got the grey hair already

Ha, ha, ha. Me too. But I hide mine. 😂

I was gutted when they raised the bus pass age. My older cousin was also able to get one before they raised the age. It's most irritating, catching the bus with her.

And a friend of mine who's in his early 70s was able to get a 'Freedom of London' pass before they stopped those. It's brilliant!

I love going to the local Wetherspoons on a Friday and joining all the other oaps for a "mini" fish and chips and mushy peas and cup of tea in a thick china mug. I debate sometimes whether to have the bread and butter, but I suspect it won't have the thick coating of solid butter that melts so deliciously when you put your chips on it.

A newspaper?!!!!! Do they still make those? hehe

You might want to start collecting them. By the time you can get that OAP lunch they will be long gone.

Your days are very relaxing, I like how you live life
