Weeklyish Running update - Base Phase...

So I've got a new running strategy, focussing on base, build and race phases... it's pretty obvious which each is. Three cycles a year I'm gonna go for.

ATM I'm in my first base phase, this means mainly easy runs with one 'Octopus session' every 10-14 days in which I do minimal speed work.....

It's been nice taking it easy!

Monday - 7.5K easy

Had a dentist appointment, walked there in my running gear and then ran back via a park in the opposite direction!

Wednesday Octopus...

I booked the track but then on getting there I decided not to bother and just did some intervals up the top of the park, only 4 times 300 - which was actually more than my training programme suggested!

I'm gonna trust this...

Easy ish Park Run...

I did it at a steady pace, it's kind of nice, taking it easy!

From here...

Another 3 weeks in the base phase then I'll gradually head into the build phase, I want to try and get more easy runs in too!

Sort:

nice heart rates for easy-ish paces!

Yes I am pleased with this, I think it's the way to go right? Get your base sorted and then build from there!
