Benefits of Aloe Vera

As a lover of aloe, I do use it often on my skin especially when I have too much exposure to the sun and sometimes I do eat it, not minding it's bitterness because I know it's value. I decided not to enjoy all this benefits and share them with you guys..

Aloe vera is said to be a wonderful plant that almost have the all round importance. The green plant has so many benefits than to be told. It has the ability to cure skin infection, fungal infection, indigestion and can also serve as skin moisturizer.

History and Interesting facts about Aloe Vera

The earliest report about aloe Vera as a healing plant came up in Egypt, 6000 years back. The Egyptians considered the green plant as an Holy plant as pictures of the plants were hanged on the wall of their temples. Their belief was that the plants held the secrets of beauty and immortality. The plants were used for long period of time which later got it's "nick name" as "plant of beauty and immortality". Two Egyptians queens known as Nofretete and Cleopatra liked the green plant and valued it. They used it daily for skin treatment and beauty care.

It was also reported that in the ancient Egypt, when one of their king died, Aloe vera was used to embalm him because of the wonderful properties, has the plant.

Moreover, in the ancient Mesopotamia in about 2200 BC. The people knew about the awesome benefits of Aloe Vera. They considered illnesses as spiritual problem of the body while they believed that only the divine green plant has the ability to get rid of the spiritual problem.

Also, during the time of Alexander the great, Aloe vera was often used by the people of Asia as treatment. It was noted that Alexander the great employed the used of Aloe Vera as treatment of the wound of their warriors during the time of war.

Aloe was considered as a purgative and also a plant used to protect and cure the skin from various infections by U.S. pharmacopoeia in 1820. In 1930s, it was also used as a treatment from the UV rays of the sun. In 2014, the value of raw aloe materials and finished products of companies producing a skin care products made with Aloe Vera was approximately $125m and $110b respectively.

Nowadays, almost all the products (toothpaste, sunscreens, shampoo, moisturizer, etc) of industry producing cosmetics includes aloe vera.

Benefits of Aloe Vera

It helps with digestion

Aloe vera has the ability to aids digestion because of the awesome properties it has such as anti inflammatory and laxatives properties etc. It is healthy to take aloe vera juice because it aids digestion and fight constipation

According to a survey conducted by Arizona faction of scientists and reported in Journal of Research in Medical Sciences, they figured out that about 30 milliliters of the aloe juice taken two times daily reduced the level of discomfort in about 33 patients with digestion problem. Among the patients who pactipated, it was noted that flatulence reduced while stool consistence and frequency had not change.

According to another survey by Avicenna Journal of Phytomedicine, they conducted test of aloe vera on rodents with gastrointestinal problems. The survey figure out that the gastric acid levels of the rodents reduced.

Because of the antibacterial properties of aloe, it has been said to be able to soothe and cure stomach ulcer.

Cure Rashes and Skin Irritation

Aloe vera is well known for its awesome properties for skin treatment. It has the ability to cure dermatitis, oral mucositis, surgical wounds and also serve as home remedy for burns.

According to a study in 1935, researchers figured out that the extracted gel of the awesome plants was used to cure itching and burning due to severe radiation, dermatitis and regenration of the skin.

A study conducted by the Department of Clinical Physiology in Sweden in 1996, in which 60 patients with severe psoriasis participated. Half of them were treated with aloe vera while the rest with placebo cream. The results showed that 83 percent of the aloe group were cured compared with 7 percent of the placebo group in which no relapses were report within a year.

9 years ago, a review summarized about 40 researches on the use of dermatological problems. The outcomes suggest that aloe vera work perfectly on wound healing, has the ability to reduce HPV (Human Papiloma Virus) and also decreased the issue of tumor by over 90 percent in the lover and bone marrow.

The results also showed that aloe vera work effectively on genital herpes , psoriasis, dermatitis, frostbite, burns and inflammation. It can also serve as antifungal and antimicrobial

Boosting the Immune System
Aloe vera contains enzymes which helps to break down the proteins we eat into amino acids. It convert the enzymes into fuel for cells which helps them work effectively. The plants also contain bradykinase which helps to energize the body system to fight infections. Zinc present in aloe which makes it easy to fight zinc deficiency.

It also serves as a great weapons to combat diseases, destroy bacteria and keep the cell membrane safe.

According to a survey conducted by researchers in 2014, it was figured out that aloe vera has the ability to fight tooth problem due to its awesome properties such as antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, etc. It helps to boost the immune system with no allergic reactions. It is well known and used today because of it's a 100 percent natural.

it Helps To Treat Diabetes

According to so many studies of human beings and plants, aloe vera has been proved to reduce the severity of hyperglycemia and perturbed lipid profile which are common in people suffering from diabetes.

A research was carried out in two related clinic trials in which about 72 women suffering from diabetes were tested and treated with extractee gel of aloe vera. After six weeks, it was figured out that their glucose and serum triglyceride levels reduced.

It Provides Antioxidants and Reduces Inflammation
It is well known that inflammatory is tagged as the root of most diseases. Aloe vera gives us mineral and vitamins to decrease inflammation and combat infections.

Vitamin A is said to help us maintain healthy vision, neurological functions and healthy body. Vitamin A is known for its antioxidant for decreasing inflammatory issues. Another Vitamin type (C) contained in aloe Vera protect the body from diseases and skin wrinkling. Vitamin E is also an antioxidant that combat inflammation and also prevent the body cell form aging

These wonderful properties of the antioxidants can help to protect the body from the UV rays from the Sun. It also has the ability to combat skin cancer and any other skin problem. Aloe vera can able be used as treatment of aches and eczema.

A good moisturizer of the Hair and scalp
This green plant also have the ability to treat dry hair and itchy scalp. It has a great deal of useful properties used in treatment the hair. It is also able to cure dandruff in the hair. It serves as anti-bacterial for the hair.

Possible Side Effects and Interactions

Too much in take of aloe vera can bring side effects like stomach pain and cramp. And if it is taken for a long period of time, it can lead to infections like diarrhea, kidney problems, blood in the urine, muscle weakness, weight loss and heart issues.

It is not advisable for a pregnant women to take aloe vera because it can cause miscarriage and birth defects. It is also neither good for children younger than 12 years as it could lead to pain, cramp and other infections.

Too much exposure and to aloe vera can also leads to kidney failure and some critical problems.

Conclusion

Aloe vera is a wonderful plants that every home should have because of the great deal of use it has. We can plant it at home especially in our garden. It is also good to use products made with aloe on our skin. If you don't have one, don't forget to get one when next shopping. We can also get its juice from our nearby supermarket as they all have awesome properties to keep you healthy.

When I was a kid I got hurt while playing outside and a friend of my family had this plant. Since then I'm very fascinated by it and I told myself that I'll get one myself when I'm older. I probably saw Aloe Vera as a magic plant - but if you think about it then this is kind of right. It's good for you in so many ways! And you know what.. I think today is the perfect day to finally buy one :)
