Has it really been two months since I posted something?

in #science7 years ago

Apparently it's been over two months. A hectic two months it's been. I have been around the platform in that time, voting, and occasionally trolling a few people (because I just like messing with people sometimes). Had a health scare that Ive been dealing with, and am still dealing with residual anxiety from ( life is hard! ). It's been quite a hectic few months.

I don't expect anyone to read this post really, but for those that do and follow me. I am still here, I still plan to blog about science on this platform, I will not be going anywhere else.

When you've found your home you know it. This is mine.

Here is a picture of a turtle I took at a zoo I went to recently:

image

He looks sort of small, but trust me, he's not.

Sometimes it's nice to take a step back and appreciate the beauty that is the variety of life on our planet. It's something that future generations may not be able to do.

Enough of my ramblings.

See you all soon, hopefully with a triumphant return to science posting.

Sort:

I honestly have no clue how I missed this post!
And I do sincerely apologize:)
I am looking at the turtle's size in comparison to the fence, that guy is huge!
The shell design is really attractive... Any idea Species of Turtle?
PS: Welcome Back for the second time!!!

I don't remember now what species that was. It's a tortice but I don't recall what one... :(

I had already asked myself why you were not active, I went through your profile several times and did not see any activity, it was strange

I'm glad to know you're fine, my best wishes to you, my friend

Greetings from Venezuela!

There has been comment activity, I've never stopped occasionally chatting with people.

I'm glad to hear that you are okay and only had a scare instead of a real problem, @justtryme90. But dealing with anxiety from it must be a lot of stress as well, so I hope you are able to get better.

Sometimes we need to take a few steps away from online communities such as Steem and rather focus on ourself in real life, especially when you got some health issues that needs to be dealt it.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to your return to science posting!

Best regards from @valth

It's been a while @justtryme90 sorry to hear about your health problems i hope you are getting better i look forward to seeing you posting again...

I thought you had left the platform, it's a pleasure to have another post from you :) Btw i love that turtle!!!!! I love turtles, they are my favorite animals 🐢

I'm never going to leave! Soon I'll even post something interesting.

The best way to distract your mind from medical anxiety is to focus on doing things you love, this allows you to feel better and return to a sense of normality.

That turtle looks big! I bet it could bite of your whole hand if it really wanted to!

It totally could!

Makes you wonder if a turtle would feel regret after biting one of her feeders, I know they can tell people apart from one another!

Welcome again to our great community..We need diversity on Steemit and I am interested in this kind of scientific post..Good back

Welcome back! Nothing feels quite as good as getting back into something you are passionate about (atleast for me haha). Damn, The turtles shell is more mesmerizing each time I look at it!

Thanks. Yeah I like seeing animals at zoos. It's always fun to see things that are exotic to my area.

Welcome back. I was just thinking the other day that it had been a while since I'd seen any posts from you. I'm glad you're still around.

Thanks, I've been periodically commenting but have been very busy and unmotivated to write anything substantial. Stress really does a number on my motivation level.

I'll hopefully get back to some semblance of posting again eventually. It's just a matter of picking my self up by my boot straps :)

We can learn a lot from the tortoise. More than slow and steady but also take it easy. My major was science but I don't like to write about science. I rather enjoy rambling.

Hah, who doesn't enjoy rambling :D

Where is that zoo from? nice picture.

It is southwick's zoo in eastern Massachusetts.

Hey @justtryme90, well while you were away. There was this trending steemit name challenge. I had really wanted to hear yours but unfortunately you were not online then. So I hope someday you may consider telling us how you come up with your name.

I'm glad you are back, you mentioned your health - glad that you are stronger now too. Maybe you needed the rest to help your body rebuild.

My user name is just a dumb thing I came up with when 12. It doesn't hold any actual meaning. I have, due to lazyness, just continued using it on the internet for the past two decades.

hey, I hope all is well with you, it will be great to read your posts again!

It saddens me to hear about your health issue but nothing works indefinitely without in this world without having to break down occasionally. And this includes man and it's a stark reality to the world we live in..

I always remem5my friend and mentors in my prayers and you're certainly one of them

Get well and get back soon. Thanks

@eurogee of @euronation community

Thanks, I am trying. :)

Hi, hope you get better and write more. Are a scientist?

Thank you, and Yes I am a research scientist.

Welcome back :D

Welcome back! I know what it means to have hectic periods, I just hope all went smooth and that all is good with you man!

P.S: "occasionally trolling a few people"? Haha I'm curious :)

occasionally trolling a few people

;)

Glad to hear you're alright- can't wait to see some more of your posts!

The doctors tell me I am. So I have to trust them. :)

When you've found your home you know it. This is mine.

😍 How wonderful to see your post on my feed this morning! :)
The turtle is beautiful and it would be great if you could share some of the other animal photos you took in the zoo.

Have a great day ❤️

I only took one other picture really. Of this kangaroo: image

Cute little thing 😍

Yeah it was sleeping in the sun. Lazy day for the kangaroo.

It’s been 3 months precisely. Sorry about your health scare which thankfully, was just a scare and I’m certain you’ll come back stronger. I’m looking forward to learning a lot from you on your triumphant return to science posting.

I’m also glad to see you consider this place home. Hyped about the idea of you adding more value to this platform with good scientific contents.

Cheers !

I will try to fight through my anxiety and find the motivation to make posts. No guarantees on how fast that will be...

Hope you're feeling better? Believe me, I understand. When you're not functioning at 100%, the normal activities become hard.
Glad to have you back

Yeah, that's definitely true.

Life seems to be trolling with us sometimes! Best wishes to you! and I hope you can keep your humour even in the dark times! Wishing you the best!

A turtle of my acquaintances, with good attitude and care became so old that it survived its owners and owners problem-free. Wish you all the best in the world and I follow you !

Thanks, they really do live a long time. :)

Good health, we are nothing without it ;)

Yeah, what good is money with out the health to enjoy it?

I like turtles

welcome back @justtryme90!! Glad to hear you're better. try to relax and take it easy! be safe!

When you've found your home you know it. This is mine

Sounds like we have a common home.

Sometimes it's nice to take a step back and appreciate the beauty that is the variety of life on our planet.

Truism. Our planet is full of amazing and beautiful stuff, we should just take time once in a while to appreciate Mother Nature.

I don't expect anyone to read this post really

Too late, I already did :D

Welcome back to the writing aspect of steemit @justtryme90. Your curating presence has always been felt though, you've certainly been missed, in the writing regard. Sorry about your health scare. I trust you'd overcome that and get back to being awesome.

Thanks :) trying my best.

Had a health scare that Ive been dealing with, and am still dealing with residual anxiety from ( life is hard! ). It's been quite a hectic few months.

I've been through similar amount of hardship in the past months, so I can somehow relate to what you are experiencing. I was not so active on Steemit myself, but it seems like you were a lot more busier than me.

I hope that you'd find the time and will to be actively posting soon !

Best wishes, as always !

Sorry to hear of your struggles too. The body is a funny thing, and it's amazing what effect stress has and how long it takes to deal with chronically elevated cortisol.

Word !

and it's amazing what effect stress has and how long it takes to deal with chronically elevated cortisol.

Back in the days I only read in textbooks about cortisol's negative impact on our body/mind. I thought I would never fall it's victim. I was never more wrong in my life.

But both of us are not giving up, are we ? ;)

Glad to see you have not forgot about Steemit completely. You were posting in the turtle speed lately ... :-)

I haddent forgotten about it at all. I have still been helping a lot of people through my account despite not writing blogs.

I am very happy to read from you again! What a positive surprise!
I wish you all the best always, also concerning your health!
And the turtle is just sweet (even if it is not so small). :)

Yeah I am still here and WILL return to writing.

Welcome back! It's tough to be consistent, but good to see you around when you can make it!

Indeed, it's quite difficult. Thank you for the kind words.

My Cat :)

Some turtles can breath out of their ass. I will be posting a blog about it soon. It is already written.
