Sunday night, North America and many other parts of the world will experience a lunar eclipse. This will be the only total lunareclipse this year for North America. Why is it being referred to as a super blood wolf moon? I will break it down.

First of all, a lunar eclipse occurs during a full moon phase when the earth is located between the sun and moon. It will be a super moon because the moon will appear much larger than a normal full moon. It is closer to the sun, so the full moon will be larger and brighter in the sky.
The blood part derives from the fact that full moons appear as if they are reddish in color. This is due to the refractionor curvature of light from the sun as it "curves" around the earth. The red light from the spectrum hits the moon making it appear red.
Finally, wolf comes from native americans. They named each of the full moons to keep track of the seasons. January's full moon is a wolf moon.

Thus, this weekend we will experience a super blood wolf moon. I hoe the weather cooperates!
