You want to check out the comparison between these two home DNA test kits! Price, ease of use, which one you'll like more, all you could ever want to know is found below! 😀
Here's the 'unboxing' of the first:
The first thing you do is get registered on their site.
This pops up:
10% off right from the start?
I like this company!
Until I hated them...
That 10% off only applies to test kits purchased directly from the company, NOT to the $99 test I selected.
-1 to this company for disappointing an already paying customer...
Who do they think is going to their website EXCEPT people who have already bought a kit and are signing on to register?
They've already screwed up HARD on their marketing, and I'm supposed to believe they're good at deciphering a DNA sample?
Let's hope all their mental focus is trained on delivering a good product, and blame an intern for this one 😉
I'm going deep with the $99 test.
Here's what you'll find inside the box:
After registering on their website, you swab the inside of your cheek for 30 seconds with one of the sticks topped with a tuft of cotton (think of a q-tip designed for an ogre).
Then do it again.
4 swabs total, then place the envelope of swabs into the postage-prepaid mailing envelope.
This company redeemed itself on the coupon; this popped up at checkout:
What do you know?
This coupon actually worked.
Here are those codes for anyone else trying this at home:
So there it is!
HomeDNA redeemed themselves on the discount fiasco, and I'm grateful to save $10, but the disappointment after the first coupon fail still leaves a bitter memory of betrayal.
Ah well, let's see what "23andMe" has in store for us in the next post!
Thanks for reading part one of the "Steemit Consumer Report" comparison of two at-home DNA testing kits!
