Welcome to HIVE @sckoarn!
It's always a pleasure to exchange with you!
I have a fond memory of SW:TOR roleplaying, and of the clever writing in Empire quests for instance.
Looks like I missed on Megatraveler 2, and I know I missed on Star Wars Galaxies. But I played all others!
One MMORPG you may like would have been The Secret World ; because it has some serious/clever character dialogue, some real riddles too. However the original version is better than the "Legends" version (because character progression is much better, etc), the original still works but needs a key, and the key costs 70 USD now (ultimate version), so I guess it's a big no, and was not a good use of screen space to talk about it. It was still monumental.
All this was before blockchain time though!
Ah these moments singing on a ship in Everquest...
or wandering in the Befallen... and saying hello to Skeletons...
or walking at night in the Kithicor woods (brrr!! scary!)
or falling off a cliff at Qonos... and be eaten by sharks...
good times!
Something for EVE Online players, I also played Mankind (2001), a strategy persistent MMO. It seems only french people know about it, so here is a video of someone attacking a massive player base with massive forces:
yeah... I know.. old times... :D
well, at least we are not speaking "yet" of Ultima V and Shamino and Shadowlords and stuff! :D
Some great old stuff here! I loved guild wars but my favorite old school MMO was, ironically named now that hive is trying to develop one, called Ragnarok Online. It was the precursor to WoW really. Super fun game! Then there was the great fun we all had playing Counterstrike for sure, maps like de_dust were a favorite but I opted more for things like cs_office and oil rig lol
