Becoming Human: Recovering our Inner-Sense to Initiate Self-healing

The farther we stray from nature, the more we begin to inhabit the mental plane. The less we inhabit our body...the more our intuition atrophies.

The less we use our intuition, and tune out the messages that the body sends to us, the more dis-ease we will experience.

This leads to more and more complexity in the way we view ourselves and our current state of health...as we attempt to make up for the loss of direct knowledge.

This over-compensation is what has led to the MODERN form of diagnosis...lab tests, scans, x-rays...and the elaborate connecting of dots that we engage in. As opposed to the ancient way to diagnose, which was through instinct, direct experience...perceiving through the senses.

Animals in nature just “know” when they are sick or injured and what they need to heal. No fear or doubt involved. Merely direct awareness.

In some ways this knowledge is innate, some ways it is through learned behavior. Humans are no different in this sense, the first step in recovering the "soul's knowing" is to be aware that it exists.

There are two words for "knowing" in Germán language. "Wissenschaft and Kenntnis". In German, something you have actually experienced is kenntnis from kenen, “to know by experience.” Knowledge from books is wissenschaft from wissen, “to know about something”.

There was a time when we as humans emphasized kenntnis more than wissenschaft. Today, most humans start to teach the children, from day one, to parrot...memorize...deduce, and compartmentalize. We test for book knowledge, not experience...which makes things easier and so-called "education" cheaper.

The ancient form of diagnosing a disease is based on kenntnis. Dia-gnosos is broken down in Greek to mean "beyond knowing...or through knowing". An awareness of the causal factors of disease were identified through this type of knowing...through direct experience and observation...through using the tools of perception...palpating, smelling, listening, instinct, intuition, and even tasting 😲

The modern form of diagnosis is based on wissenschaft...book knowledge, logic, deduction, and reduction. We use lab testing to reduce the human complexity down to testable values.

Have we forgotten that we are each unique, dynamic, adaptable, and that we go through daily rhythms and cycles?

Have we forgotten that the human body is programmed to heal?

Modern medicine as well as much of functional and integrative medicine is based on the assumption that we need something... outside of ourselves and our relationship to natural systems...to heal. This is because they are treating humans who are not eating and living within the context of what is available in nature.

The humans that these systems are designed to treat are not fully nourished by nature. And that makes modern medicine or integrative medicine simply a stepping stone to remove oneself from this fear-based, symptom-treating merry-go-round.

The transition back to a more natural lifestyle where one may integrate back into natural rhythms starts with immersion into the elements and learning to live in reciprocity with Mother Nature. This is the point where we become our own doctor, therapist, healer, etc.

My passion is to inspire others to make this shift...back to nature...as organically as possible. We can start by simply stepping outside and gazing at the sun every morning. Or by buying an herb book and learning to identify the medicines in your area. Or by growing a few herbs on your patio. Even opening a window every day is a step in the right direction for us.

The true essence of "natural medicine" is that the body can and will heal itself when we remove the obstacles to healing and return to Nature. All other approaches are based in fear and doubt of our healing capacity and genetic potential.

Let's take a look at the major obstacles to self-healing that affect our health and genetic expression.

1: Toxic, inflammatory foods
2: Toxic chemicals like pesticides, sunscreen and cosmetics
3: Wearing restrictive shoes and clothing
4: Central heat and air
5: Wearing sunglasses
6: Exposure to florescent and excessive blue lights
7: Restricted breathing patterns
8: Cultural programming and toxic thoughts
9: Sitting in chairs
10: High EMF exposure
11: Excessive mentality and atrophy of heart perception/intuition
12: Living in time, in the past or future.
13: Working out as opposed to natural continuous movement
14: Excessive doing instead of being
15: Fear of dirt and bacteria

These are all areas that must be addressed in order to allow the natural healing processes to fully kick in. And this is what I teach my clients as a part of detoxification, self-mastery and terrain modification.

Terrain modification is the process of altering the individual's inner and outer ecology and unique vibrational signature in order to initiate self-healing. Strategies including nature immersion, intuitive abstinence, integration, plant journeys, gratitude, primal movement practice, sun-gazing, and eating local are used to tune the body as an instrument to access the ancient inner wisdom of the body.

The greater purpose of terrain modification is to awaken a human being to his/her ecological purpose as a medicine for all beings and as a symbiotic (as opposed to a parasitic) organism within a larger organism, Mother Gaia.

Your greatest ally is direct experience, learning to feel and listen to your body. To have direct knowledge (kenntnis) of your body and the way it moves through nature. Removing the obstructions (listed above) allow that background knowing...that whisper of intuition...to come to the foreground of your experience.
