Why would you not want your content shared outside of Hive?
Some are considering Hive as their safe place, where they can share everything and don't want their content on web2, so no one they know would discover it.
We had a case years ago, when the user from a heavily religion controlled country shared some photos that could put you in jail, even put your life in danger in those countries (while in developed countries those photos are totally normal) and someone they knew got onboarded on Hive and could have caused problems. Interestingly their first reaction was to ask us (community mods), to ban the other user. They don't understand web3 and definitely don't understand blockchain.
Sure, I guess I didn't think of that example, and the one I had in mind I feel like wasn't because of that as the author may not be from such a location, but yeah. I'd understand some instances and I've also told sharers to respect the wishes of authors that may not want their content shared for any reason, it's just some times it felt like it was coming from the wrong place and a few times even made clear it was because of the earning aspect. "why are they earning this much for sharing my content", while ignoring that it was seperate from content curation and that they'd still get a cut for it, albeit not as much as the sharer, which they didn't appreciate.
Yeah, they don't understand how this works, and some people are weird too. After almost 8 years on the chain, I guess you agree with me 😂
Only some? 🤣
I was being diplomatic 😂
