I used to collect shells anytime I went to the beach, as we didn't live near the ocean, so going to the beach for a few weeks every year was a novelty! Seeing the different colours, textures, shapes and size was so interesting. Also to see what the sea had done to the shells over time, with build-up of silt or some shells broken into smaller pieces, each uniquely shaped by the natural world.
